We are less than two weeks away from holding a 300+ black tie event that I have been working on for over a year.

I am 28 days away from moving. 28. Slight panic has taken over. (lies. major panic has taken over)

Thankfully, I am armed with the best friends and family one could ask for, especially in these trying times.

AND there are a lot of things making and keeping me happy. Let's make a happy list.

MY HAPPY LIST:

Someone let me cut in front of them at the grocery store today because I only had three items. That was really sweet and it made me happy.

Tomorrow is First Wednesdays. The theme is soup. Everyone brings some soup and then instead of a craft this month we are exchanging bowls. Like soup bowls. I love this months theme.

I voted today. That made me feel all American.

I am making potato soup for First Wednesdays in my crockpot.

Last night, Johannah let me have a whole conversation about how pretty I think my cat is. "but...like, no, really Johannah. She could be in the movies. Have you ever seen a cat that looks so pretty?" She also fed me. I really loved her last night.

I have some pictures to show you about a sweet "surprise" I got on Friday.

( all i can say is that one of my childhood fantasy came true and that doesn't happen everyday.)

Meanwhile, I have two big things (and one selfish thing) to look forward to this week:

1. Cool Breeze Stables (andrew's family operated horse farm) has their annual horse show on Saturday. My mom will be coming up to the farm for the weekend to help out. I can't tell you how excited I am!!!

2. Wednesday is First Wednesdays October. I haven't been able to go for the past two months and I am sooo looking forward it. The theme is "Pot- Lucky" and you have to read Amy's invitation here. She is such a beautiful, amazing writer! I have no idea what I am going to craft yet! Ideas?

3. Olivia is staying with Andrew for the week. I know I am a terrible mother but she's been a handful lately and I'm really enjoying this little break.

First Wednesday gift:

Very excited about tonight. The theme is "church picnic". I'm bringing homemade from scratch, BANANA PUDDIN'.

These earrings were so easy to make. I bought a pack of plastic, rose buttons, cut the back off of the buttons, painted them pink and then glued them to earring posts.

(I sanitized them after modeling.....promise)

First Wednesdays

First Wednesday is the best Wednesday of the month.

My friend/co-worker/sister/all wrapped into one wonderful person Amy started this once a month get together back in February and we have been meeting the first Wednesday of every month since.

Amy invites everyone she knows to her adorable condo each month and we usually have a theme.

One month it was comfort foods where everyone brought a dish that brings them comfort and told a story about it.

Let's just say that month wasn't the healthiest but THE BEST.

We have had themes where everyone brings a food that starts with the first letter of your name, celebrated "cinco de seis" in May, and last night it was "Bring a Friend" month for June.

But the best part of First Wednesday's is the gift exchange. Everyone who wants to participate brings a small, handmade gift and we draw numbers.....and then it gets dirty. "Bad Santa" style. We all have numbers and can pick a gift or pick someone elses.

We all started out being very polite and not stealing.
